Controversy erupts as video of police vehicle entering hospital premises circulates on social media
Doctors protest outside AIIMS dean's office, demanding action against the accused
A police team made an unusual drive up to the fourth floor of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Rishikesh to arrest a nursing officer accused of molesting a junior resident doctor. The incident stirred controversy as a video of the police vehicle entering the hospital premises went viral on social media, sparking debates about security and protocol within medical institutions.
In an unprecedented move, a police vehicle drove through the crowded halls of AIIMS Rishikesh, navigating its way up to the fourth floor to apprehend Satish Kumar, a nursing officer accused of molestation. The vehicle's entry, captured on video and shared widely on social media, raised questions about hospital security and the handling of sensitive cases within medical institutions. According to senior police superintendent Ajai Singh, the vehicle took an alternative route through the emergency way, bypassing the main entrance, to avoid potential disruptions or protests. AIIMS public relations officer Sandeep Kumar justified the police presence, citing concerns over potential attacks on the accused, adding that protestors had attempted to block the police vehicle.
